The Singapore Maritime Gallery at Marina South Pier explains how the sea has shaped the country’s history, economy and daily life. Exhibits connect early regional trade with the rise of the modern port and show how goods move through global supply chains. Interactive displays introduce navigation, port operations, maritime careers and new technologies.
The gallery also looks ahead to automation, digitalisation and cleaner fuels, helping visitors understand why maritime activity remains essential to Singapore’s connections with the world.
Tides of Time traces the island’s trading history, while The Future Is Now explores technology and sustainability in shipping. Maritime Careers introduces the people behind the port, and PlayPort welcomes younger visitors.

1. Marina South Pier
Opened in 2006 to replace Clifford Pier, Marina South Pier supports passenger journeys to the Southern Islands and crew transfers for ships in port. Its everyday activity connects Singapore’s maritime story with the people moving between the mainland, islands and vessels.
2. Singapore Maritime Gallery
The gallery’s 2025 refresh introduced Tides of Time, a heritage zone exploring maritime trade beyond the colonial period. Archaeological artefacts and the Santa Catarina story broaden the narrative, while the gallery’s other zones connect this history with technology, trade and maritime careers.
3. Land-side Waterfront Observation
The waterfront places the gallery’s stories within a working maritime setting. Ferries and harbour craft reveal the passenger connections and supporting services behind port activity, adding a local perspective to Singapore’s wider role in global shipping and trade.
