TRACING THE ATTACK
Eight. The number of days that the Imperial Japanese Army took to successfully force the impregnable fortress of Singapore to the surrender table. Considering the disparity in number of troops and resources available as compared to the Allied commanders, this was a remarkable feat. How was this achieved? What was the strategy ? Where were the key battles that decided the campaign?

Singapore’s success is synonymous with the name Lee Kuan Yew. As Singapore’s first prime minister, he guided Singapore through merger and separation with Malaya, ensured the physical survival of a new nation state, and built a country we are today proud to call home.
